County 3000m Track Championships

As indicated at the recent championships, there are plans for the 3000m championships to be held at the Marlow Open Meeting on Sunday 16th June. I have previously asked for interested athletes to let me know that they wish to compete; so far, few have done so.
Unless there are more expressions of interest (to be followed up by entries on the day, entry fee £5), these championships will NOT take place. The timing of the races will be at around lunchtime.

Seven CBPs at County Championships

Good weather – especially on the second day, meant an outstanding opportunity for some excellent early season marks at Horspath Road.

In the Senior Women’s Discus, Kathryn Woodcock was close to her 50 metre-plus pb when throwing a Championship Best Performance of 48.53m – exceeding the old mark by some 4 metres.

One of the older records fell in the U17 Women’s Pole Vault, when Reading’s Emily Scrivener cleared 3.10m, erasing Caroline Smith’s 1999 record.

Lost Property

One item of lost property remains unclaimed from the County Track & Field Championships weekend – a green shawl or wrap. If the owner would like to contact Alan Vincent, the Meeting Manager – on 01295 720809 or on avbloxham@gmail.com - he would be pleased to arrange its return.
