The South East Regional Awards were presented in a virtual session on Friday 28th November. Congratulations to James Charles (Banbury Harriers AC), Runner-Up in the Official of the Year category.
The Oxfordshire AA AGM is being held this Friday 13th November on Zoom starting at 7.30pm (meeting details have been emailed out)
We hope to have lots of people join us for the annual update.
The agenda is as follows:
There’s been a suggestion that we hold a Zoom meeting specifically for County officials. This might be particularly welcome during the current lockdown. It would be nice to see all those familiar, friendly faces, even it only virtually, wouldn’t it?
Kay Reynolds is willing to prepare a quiz, while I could offer an update on stuff that has been going on during the past few months of comparative inactivity on the officiating front. I am also wondering whether a brief Q & A slot might be helpful. Any other ideas would of course be very welcome (see below).
For the past few years coordination of coaching in the County has been the preserve of the Local Athletics Network, but that has now disbanded. Some of its remaining funds have come to Oxfordshire AA and have been earmarked for coaching. The purpose of the letter is to ask the clubs and especially their coaches what support they would like from the County. It is addressed not only to track & field clubs and those with junior sections, but also to adult running clubs in the County.
