The 2026 Inter-Counties Senior Mountain Race will be held on Sunday 3rd May at the People’s Hall, Howgill Lane, Sedbergh, Cumbria LA10 5DQ.
Course Details:
Distance/ascent: 14.5km/ 980m
The race starts and finishes above Lockbank Farm. To access the fell, follow Howgill Lane to Lochbank Farm and access it along the public footpath by the farm. Please close all gates.
The course will be marked and marshalled.
Timetable:
Registration will be held at the Peoples Hall from 10:30 until 12:50.
There will be two races, with women starting 5 minutes after the men:
13:00: Men
13.05: Women
Race rules:
The race will be run under Scottish Athletics rules and as such there are minimum kit requirements stating that all competitors must carry waterproof top (taped seams) and bottoms, hat and gloves.
Selection criteria:
There are 5 athletes (and two reserve) to be entered per county team (Male and Female). All selections will be made at the team managers discretion, to show interest in competing, please email the team manager Matthieu Marshall matthieu.marshall@gmail.com . Selection criteria will be based on the following:
* evidence of race performances in fell or mountain races since 1st Jan 2025.
* performance in the Oxfordshire County Cross Championships held in January 2026
* any other fell & mountain running race history
