Oxfordshire AA is sad to report the death of Margaret Strange, aged 70, on 15th May 2016.
Margaret was a Life Vice President of the County AA and will be greatly missed by the Oxfordshire Athletics community, as well as her immediate family for whom she was a much-loved mother and grandmother.
She and her late husband, Barrie, each gave more than 50 years in the service and support of county athletics. A former thrower herself, Margaret was a very competent and active official, operating at Level 3 as both Field Judge and Endurance Official, and also at Level 2 as a Track Judge, until illness curtailed her activities. She was a wise and good-humoured colleague, always a pleasure to work with.
Margaret’s funeral took place on 25th May, at St Andrews’s Church, East Hagbourne, where Margaret was a regular worshipper and, for the last two years of her life, a member of the Church Choir.
