Congratulations to Tom Gould, still a teenager (just!) - on being upgraded to Level 2 Field Judge.
This year’s Inter-County Meeting took place on Saturday 27th July at Kingston. The meeting is contested by leading athletes from 13 counties across the South of England and competition was of a very high standard. After a week of sun and heat the dismal weather forecast for Saturday did nothing to dampen the spirits of the Oxfordshire teams, though it wasn’t conducive to fast times on the track.
The team of 32 athletes set off for Birmingham to face the 2000 other county champions from 45 counties across England. This would be the last time the school’s competition would be held in Birmingham as the stadium is being redeveloped for the Commonwealth Games in 2022.
29 members of the team had events on the Friday which meant we had an exceptionally busy day.
Best of luck to the Oxfordshire English Schools' team who will be competing in Birmingham on the 12th and 13th of July 2019.
The team is listed below:
Girls’ Captain Ella Turner 300m
Becky Watkins 400mH
