County T&F Open Graded Meeting

We have pleasure in notifying you that Oxon AA have arranged an open graded track and field competition taking place on 12 June 2021 at Horspath athletics track. This event replaces the previously cancelled County Championships and County Schools event. Entry criteria applies.

English Schools 2019

The team of 32 athletes set off for Birmingham to face the 2000 other county champions from 45 counties across England. This would be the last time the school’s competition would be held in Birmingham as the stadium is being redeveloped for the Commonwealth Games in 2022. 

29 members of the team had events on the Friday which meant we had an exceptionally busy day.

English Schools Combined events 2019

This years English Schools Combined Events Midlands Regional  competition will take place in Sutton in Ashfield (Notts) on the w/end of 22/23 June with the final scheduled for Exeter 21/22 Sept.
Athletes who wish to be considered for the 6 x 4 person teams need to contact PJOKEEFE@hotmail.co.uk or phone 07786622253 and register their details for selection. 
Selection will be made on 5 June. Details required :- Sex, Age Grp, School and pbs for all the relevant event disciplines in your age group.

English Schools T&F 2018

Oxfordshire took a team of 32 athletes to the English Schools' Athletics Championships at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham on the 13th and 14th July 2018 to face the best athletes in the country.

Oxfordshires only medal came from Ella Turner in the Senior Girls 400m with a time of 54.74s winning the bronze. Trevorae Lumsden (JB) and Emily Thompson (SG) came within a whisker of being in a medal position.

The 13th and 14th July sees the annual English Schools' Track & Field Championships (being held in Birmingham). A timetable of events is attached and those chosen to represent Oxfordshire are:

ESAA Midlands Regional Round 23/24 June at Tilsley Park

This years Midland round of the ESAA combined events takes place at Tilsley Park on the weekend of the 23/24 June.

Events start on both days at 10.00am and registration for teams/individuals will be open from 9.00am.

Oxfordshire hosts this years event and entries for the 24 team places are still open (closing date is 12 June). The boys entries are particularly light.  This is a great opportunity to take part in a combined event meet, representing Oxfordshire and potentially qualifying for the national finals in September.

National Schools Titles for Jade and Tim

Jade O’Dowda and Tim Stephens brought off an amazing double at the ESAA English Schools’ Combined Events Championships in Exeter.

Jade O’Dowda, a 17-year-old student at Gosford Hill School, won the Intermediate Girls’ Heptathlon with a total of 5,226 points. Her individual performances included 11.55 secs for the 80m Hurdles, a 1.68m high jump, 25.57 secs 200m, 5.83m long jump, and 2:23.8 for 800m.
