SUPER SATURDAY!

The team below will represent Oxfordshire at the English Schools' in Manchester on 8-9th July.

A total of 16 Oxfordshire athletes had been selected for this year’s regional event however due to illness and injury regrettably only 12 made it to the start line in Banbury.

Junior Boys

• County Schools X/C Tuesday 25th January at Radley College
• National Schools X/C Saturday 19th March in Kent
• OSAA Committee Meeting Monday 25th April, 4.30 pm at Radley College
• North Oxon T&F Trials Wednesday 4th May at Horspath R

A couple of injuries to both our Junior Girl and Boy athletes meant we had no one in this year’s finals in the junior age groups. 

So, it was up to the inters and seniors to perform against the best that the rest of the other 45 counties from across the UK had too offer. 

This year was unusual due to Covid-19 and English Schools organisers selecting the athletes from all the counties nominations. English Schools selected the top sixteen athletes in each event in each age group.

A record number of athletes entered the ESAA Regional combined events. So many in fact that for the first time ever we were able to enter 6 teams – one in each of the 3 age groups both male and female. 20 athletes in total. 

Unfortunately, due to illness, 4 athletes pulled out before the event but one reserve was able to be called up meaning that we still had five teams and just 2 individuals in the senior girls.

Recently we have compiled the 'Roll of Honour' listing those who competed at the English Schools Championships for Oxfordshire.

12 JUNE ARRANGEMENTS - Oxfordshire Graded Meeting

The County Schools Champs and County Champs have been combined this year due to Covid restrictions. To enter the combined Oxfordshire Graded Meeting on the 12th June athletes will need to enter individually on the online entry system if they:

a) live in Oxfordshire;

b) are a member of an Oxfordshire club.

We have pleasure in notifying you that Oxon AA have arranged an open graded track and field competition taking place on 12 June 2021 at Horspath athletics track. This event replaces the previously cancelled County Championships and County Schools event. Entry criteria applies.
